I've had a super busy week this week!  Work, sewing and two days at home!  Oh and a visit from Littley today :D

Work is...  Good.  I'm enjoying it, and finding it weird at the same time.  I love being around children again.  I'd forgotten how nice it is to be adored.  Sounds silly but children give their love very easily and very quickly.  I've missed that, though I hadn't realised quite how much.

I have also started getting to know my colleagues.  Or two of them at least.  The younger guy is called Nathan.  He seems lovely and has a new puppy.  He also doesn't know where the bin is (neither do I, and we couldn't find it, which made the dirty nappy a tad problematic...).  The other guy I've spoken to is Derek, who also seems lovely and is anxious to make sure I'm ok and not wanting for anything.

Going behind the reception desk still feels odd, as does getting up when the alarm goes off and doing things like wearing work clothes (properly smart and everything!) and putting on makeup.  Walking to work is also a pleasant novelty for now, but I suspect it may take more willpower when the weather turns cold and gets vile.

Sewing is going well, I think, but I can't say too much about it as the people I'm sewing for aren't allowed to know what I'm making...

Home was...  Yes.  I hate and love going home.  Mainly because I feel unsettled and claustrophobic when I get back to Bath, but also glad I don't still live with my parents.  We arrived on Thursday night and within half an hour I was in an old pair of wellies and blackberrying down the chase.  I got lots of blackberries and am looking forward to making blackberry and apple next week.  I was hoping to use apples off our tree, but they aren't quite ripe yet, so that'll have to wait for the second batch.  It was so nice to having nothing but fields around me, and to be able to see no cars and only here bird song.  I saw a badger on the way home.  It ran across the path in front of me, I think I startled it!

On Friday we visited my Gran, heard about both my Uncles and had biscuits and the juice she'd got in specially for us.  I love the fact that she remember Lizzy and I don't drink tea and buys orange juice instead!  Uncle John Howard continues to be as well as someone with terminal cancer can be.  Uncle John Graham has broken his other hip and so is back in hospital (he fell out of bed). he was still groggy from the op he'd had to sort it out when Gran went to visit, but we think he's ok.  Or at least as ok as an extremely old and frail man can be.

Then we went to Ickworth House.  Ickworth is a National Trust property that we used to go to all the time when we were younger.  It hasn't changed and is still a lovely place to be!  We rambled around the house and then the gardens, but couldn't go to far due tot he fact it was very wet.  They've opened a second hand bookshop, and I may have bought three books, so definitely a good afternoon for me :D

In the evening Colin and I went out for dinner with Shelly and Raine.  We had a very nice meal at Zizzi's in Colchester and swapped all our gossip, before we jumped into the car and had quite a smooth trip back, getting home for mdnight.  Which gave us just enough time for a good nights sleep before Colin went to collect Littley this morning.

We baked cake this morning (I baked, she licked the bowl out..) and then she and Colin went to the American museum this afternoon, so I could sew.  Sad I missed it as apparently they have a quilts exhibition on and many books on patchwork.  I must go, view and buy :D  But I did get a fair bit done.

Then they came home, we iced the cake and had tea, with cake for pudding.  We are taking her on holiday next week, and she's very excited.  I'm...  Nervous!  It'll be the first time we've spent a week together, as a family, and I'm hoping it goes ok.

But yeah, that's what I've been up to basically :)
