Not Much

Just a quick post before I get down to some sewing, as I realised I haven't done a general update in a while.

My life currently consists of sewing, ballet and larp.  Nothing else.  Small world?  Yes.  Fun?  Oh yes :)

Ballet is going well.  I think...  I have to be honest, my balance is rubbish (please, please don't let the teacher take the barre away...)  and the difference between right and left is troubling me, as was shown in my attempts at piroutettes today.  That said, I can feel the improvements everyweek and I do seem to be getting better at balance.  Things get more interesting next week, when on the same day as my beginners ballet course I start up the summer technique class for scottish country dancing.

Scottish country dancing and ballet couldn't be more different if they tried and I know from experience the technique class is /hard/  and that was last year when I was at top form.  What it will be like this year when the only dance I've done in months is an hours worth of ballet a week...  Meeple?

Sewing is good.  I have made a fair few bits for other people now, and the idea of turning it into a business hasn't gone away.  Still scared though, it's a huge step and I don't think I'm researched enough.  Things I have made recently include, an apron for me, a costume evening gown, military costume jackets, a gentleman's frock coat and a few other little bits and pieces.  I'm currently working on, a pair of bracers for a friend, an apron as part of a costume, some additions to some npc kit I made a while back and a green velvet cape.  I confess, the cape is for me, in place of a light autumn coat.  I can't find a coat I like and this cape is so pretty, some I'm going to wear it and set a new fashion :D

LARP has also been fun, though trying to keep a crying fit going for several hours was a challenge I'd rather not have had to face.  Rose is wonderful, and I'm looking forward to the little bits of downtime I've got left with her, but I'm also looking forward to Katrin now.  Katrin will be fun, because she's a change, and I can't see her ever crying.  Or at least not admitting to it...  I'm very hesitantly toying with the idea of a CP character, but not really sure about that at all.  I want to go to Winter in the Willows this October but I'm waiting on Steampunk dates, because if it's a choice between Lady Ria or Kelsey Property of WITS, then Ria wins every time.

There's no change with my family, though Colin and I are now due to be visiting in August and apparently my card was well recieved.  Squiggle-Dot-Dot is as lovely as ever though and is really getting into history so we've been having a nice time thinking up all the old castles in the area to visit.  I'm also feeding her my children's fictional history stories which she seem to be enjoying.  I love the fact my stepchild is turning into as big a bookworm and geek as me and her daddy...

So yeah,  that's my life...  Oh and I have occasional trips to the park to play and eat ice cream as well :)
