(no subject)

So...  Tonight was supposed to be a wonderfully romantic evening for me and Colin.  Due to littley and various other things we have a busy weekend ahead so I thought I'd cook a lovely meal, dress up all pretty and set the table nicely so we could enjoy a little Valentines magic this evening.

This failed on two counts... 

One, Colin arrived home earlier than planned, meaning I was still cooking and still in my jeans and t-shirt so fail on the dishing up as he walks in and on the actually looking presentable for a change...

Two, a plug socket melted...

Oopsie?  :(

Colin gave me a lovely bouquet of roses and I wandered out of the kitchen where I had been for the past hour or so to look for a vase.  I thought the room smelt funny and I could hear something buzzing...  And I looked behind the telly and saw smoke curling out of the plug socket.  Never a good sign really!  Colin came and turned it off and has cleaned up the mess but the stink is dreadful and it kind of finished any plans for a romantic evening in the lounge as we can't plug the tv or stereo in and it smells so bad :(

At least the roast lamb was nice and the rhubarb crumble worked well...

Argh!  Just as I was about to post this the internet disappeared.  The reason why?  Another plug socket burnt...  We think the phone plug is what has caused the issues.  Fingers crossed!
